Why we exist
Most homeowners' experience with "smart home" technology is bad — fragmented apps, half-working scenes, devices that lose connection, installers that disappear after the check clears. Most architects' and builders' experience is the same, just from a different angle: an integrator who shows up late, doesn't coordinate with the trades, and leaves a mess for someone else to fix.
Comet Innovations exists because that's solvable, and most of the industry isn't solving it. We're small, we're senior, and we're accountable from the first call to the warranty service three years in.
How we work
No quotas. No commission tiers that push us toward the higher-margin gear. We recommend what we'd put in our own home — usually Lutron, Sonos, Ubiquiti, Control4, and a small set of others we've validated over years of installs.
We work with homeowners directly and through architect, builder, and interior designer partners. We start every project with a conversation, not a quote.
Who we work with
- Homeowners — new builds, major renovations, retrofits, and ongoing care.
- Architects — early-design integration so the technology supports the architecture instead of fighting it.
- Builders & general contractors — we fit your build schedule and coordinate with your trades.
- Interior designers — we keep the technology hidden so your design stays clean.
The Comet family
Comet Innovations is one of a small group of West Coast businesses sharing the Comet name and values:
- Comet Innovations — that's us — smart-home and business technology.
- Comet Associates — project management, consulting, and software (including the Talking Tags accessibility utility).
- Comet Design Studio — design services for our clients and our own products.
- Comet Adventures — coming soon. A concierge service that brings together the best of every Comet business.
Each operates independently, but we share a commitment to craftsmanship, accessibility, and treating customers like people.
